Therapies for Pain Management
Genicular Artery embolization (GAE)
is a minimally
invasive, image-guided procedure that targets
small blood vessels (the genicular arteries) supplying the lining of the
knee joint. By injecting tiny embolic particles through a catheter, GAE
reduces abnormal blood flow and inflammation in the knee - the
underlying drivers of pain in many cases.
Because the procedure does not remove bone or tissue and is performed
under local anesthesia with a small catheter puncture, it avoids the trauma, long hospital stay, and extended
recovery associated with traditional knee surgery.
Vertebroplasty and Kyphoplasty
are two procedures used to treat
vertebral compression fractures, often caused by osteoporosis. These
minimally invasive techniques involve injecting bone cement into the
fractured vertebra to stabilize it and relieve pain.
Bone and Soft Tissue Ablation
is another advanced treatment option. This technique uses heat or cold to destroy
abnormal bone or soft tissue, such as tumors or lesions. Ablation
provides an effective, minimally invasive alternative to traditional
surgery, resulting in less pain and quicker recovery times.
